Baja California Norte

This summer we have been traveling 97 days and drove a distance of 15,000 miles, took thousand photos and ate thousand tacos.

The starting point was New York City and we drove to California with one day stops in Dallas, Flagstaff, Los Angeles and San Diego, where we have visited friends, and before crossing the border, we went to the unforgettable afternoon party to celebrate "Ultimo dia en los Estados Unitos"

We crossed the border at Tecote. Just south of the border things are not much different, but the more you drive south, the more things change rapidly. US sterility was disappearing and we began to feel lighter, easier.

Instead of sterility, you get hospitality of Mexican people.

In Baja California Norte the very first place we appreciated a lot was Bahia de Los Angeles.

What a party!

It's 68km off the main road, not easy to drive to (roads are brutal in Baja), but it's worthy. We rented our first home (cabaņa) and were fishing, swimming and snorkeling away.
At nights, we used to fall asleep with noisy dolphins as they were coming to the bay after dark to fill their tummies.

Baja California Sur was precisely what we were looking for. No people, abandoned beaches, azure water, hot weather and swimming suits were optional. San Ignacio, Bahia Conception (paradise) and our dream spot Playa la Perla. Baby didn't want to leave that place, she wanted to stay there the whole summer; that's how good it was.
